This course is designed for operators who do not hold a certificate or need a refresher but have experience operating a Lorry Mounted Crane. Course Objectives On completion of this course, participants will be able to: Operate a Lorry Mounted Crane safely, reducing the risk of injury to operators and pedestrians Be able to use safe operating techniques Be familiar with Lorry Mounted Crane operating controls Understand the hazards associated with the use of Lorry Mounted Crane Be able to correctly position Lorry Mounted Crane in relation to task requirements Course Content Introduction to course Overview of current legislation Safe operating practices including establishing the SWL for Lorry Mounted Crane Elementary controls and operation Daily inspection Introduction to Lorry Mounted Crane – Explanation, demonstration and guided practice in the correct procedures to adopt when operating a Lorry Mounted Crane Examination (written and practical) Methodology Presentation on multimedia, supplemented by discussions, case studies and practical exercises. Evaluation Participants will be required to complete a written assessment on machinery safety. Certification Full certification is provided on successful completion of the course. Duration Half day – Full day (depending on abilities)
