MEWP Scissor lift 3a / Boom lift 3b For Group or on-site bookings, please contact info@worksafety.ie or phone 0879973866 Course Aim The aim of the course is to give participants the basic skills and knowledge to operate a MEWP safely and efficiently and successfully complete the theory and practical evaluations associated with the course. This course is designed for experienced operators who do not hold a certificate but who do have experience operating a MEWP. Course Objectives On completion of this course, participants will be able to: Operate a MEWP safely, reducing the risk of injury to operators and pedestrians Be able to use safe operating techniques Be familiar with MEWP operating controls Be able to refuel/recharge MEWPS safely Understand the hazards associated with the use of MEWPs Be able to correctly position MEWPs in relation to task requirements Course Content Introduction to course Overview of current legislation Safe operating practices including establishing the SWL for MEWP’s Elementary controls and operation Daily inspection and refuelling Introduction to MEWP – Explanation, demonstration and guided practice in the correct procedures to adopt when operating a MEWP Examination (written and practical) Methodology Presentation on multimedia, supplemented by discussions, case studies and practical exercises. Evaluation Participants will be required to complete a written assessment on machinery safety. Certification Full certification is provided on successful completion of the course.
